CISV (formerly Children’s International Summer Village) is a UNESCO partner and an international NGO dedicated to building intercultural friendship with a focus on peace education. We are looking for a passionate educator and leader to join a team of staff that will lead operations for our upcoming Village Program in the summer of 2025. The position will be on a campus near Philadelphia, PA, home to the CISV Philadelphia chapter.
More about Village
Villiage is a flagship program of CISV – a 23-day international camp attended by one delegation from twelve nations. Each delegation consists of four children and an adult leader. During camp, everyone participates in various educational activities aimed at promoting teamwork, cultural exchange, and building global friendship. Village Staff oversee the entire operation of the camp.
Staff Responsibilities
Collaborate with Leaders and Junior Counselors in the Village Program to create a safe and welcoming environment for youth of foreign nationals. This includes assessment of activities planned by Leaders and JCs, adhering to CISV’s curriculum, and delegating tasks. Staff observe CISV’s rules and federal, state and local laws and communicate actively with the Philadelphia chapter regarding any accommodation needs or issues that arise. Staff hold daily meetings with other staff and Leaders and must be onsite 24/7 throughout the 23 days (June 27th-July 20th), aside from a designated day off.
Compensation
Staff are provided reimbursement for traveling to the Philadelphia campsite, as well as other travel and food expenses incurred during the program (Note: this includes traveling to and from the Staff Training Weekend in late March/early April, 2025). In addition, staff will receive a small stipend for the duration of the program.
