It isn’t all about the travel!
The Junior Branch is the very heart and soul of CISV! JB members enjoy year-long events, including monthly activities, minicamps, and activities supporting local charities.
The Junior Branch comprises young local CISVers between the ages of 10 – 18. They work hard to develop intercultural and leadership skills through educational and social activities that build community and promote peace through education.
The JB also offers youth opportunities to take on leadership roles by being on the Junior Board. With the support of an adult mentor, they take an active part in the administrative responsibilities of their chapters. Operating through a network at the national and international levels, JBers organize their own programs, teaching them lifelong leadership skills.
One of the programs the Junior Board runs are minicamps, which are overnight camps that take place over a weekend. These minicamps enable participants to connect with more CISVers and continue to learn about Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Sustainability, Human Rights, and more. They also provide a window into what an international camp is like, which is perfect for anyone new to CISV and looking to do an international program!
Check out some of the past events our Junior Branchers organized and facilitated and be sure to stay tuned for upcoming events!
