These members are young\, passionate individuals committed to representing CISV’s mission within our community.\nThe Junior Board plans and runs local activities through the year\, works collaboratively with other CISV Chapters\, and strives to make positive change in our society. As a member of the CISV Junior Board\, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills\, work with like-minded individuals\, and contribute to meaningful projects and initiatives that promote peace\, cultural exchange\, and global understanding. Joining the CISV Junior Board is a unique opportunity to grow as a person\, meet new people and make friends\, all while contributing to a noble cause. Whether you are interested in community service\, social media\, or planning activities\, there’s a place for you on JB! Pamoza is run by CISV Philadelphia member Temwa Wright. \nPamoza is planning a Miles for Malawi 5K to raise funds\, and we can help either by volunteering or by signing up to run/walk. DESCRIPTION:The Junior Board will be running a classic CISV activity and having ‘lullabies.’ At a camp\, ‘lullabies’ are when we sing songs such as ‘Let It Be’ and ‘Wonderwall’ before going to bed\, and so at this activity\, we will be having ‘lullabies’ before you go home. It’s a great event for anyone new to CISV and interested in getting a feel for what the organization does\, so we highly recommend attending if you are new! \nKids should eat before being dropped off. \nParents have the option to hang out at a local restaurant (after our chaperone needs are met)

DESCRIPTION:In order to honor Black History Month\, we will be visiting the Constitution Center’s Community Day which celebrates Black history. The Constitution Center is a museum that examines the role the U.S. Constitution plays in our lives.  \n\nWe will be doing the “The Road to Freedom: The Story of Slavery in America” Program. Here’s what the website says about the program:  \n\n“This interactive program explores the story of slavery in the United States through a constitutional lens\, taking visitors on a journey from the time of the Constitutional Convention to the start of the Civil War. It spotlights historic figures—like Thomas Jefferson\, Angelina Grimke\, Harriet Tubman\, William Still\, and Abraham Lincoln—and key events—such as the Missouri Compromise\, the Compromise of 1850\, the Kansas-Nebraska Act\, the Dred Scott case\, and the secession of the South.”\n\n\n\nAfter the program\, we will gather for a brief debrief\, after which you are free to explore what the museum has to offer. Admission is free!
